Coldplay and BTS spread meaningful love their much-anticipated collaboration 'My Universe', watch lyric video  The legendary British-rock band Coldplay and 21st-century pop icons BTS have released their much-anticipated collaboration ‘My Universe’. Following a series of hints, teasers, and their recent meet-up in New York earlier this week, the collab dropped on Friday morning, September 24 (9:30 am IST) accompanied by a lyric video that features handwritten lyrics from both groups, in both English and Korean. Sung in both English and Korean, the overall song envisions "love" as a meaningful and purposeful thing in life in all forms. The hook works like an earworm, "You, you are / My universe / And I just want to put you first / You, you are / My universe / And I."  The BTS translators have translated the Korean lyrics that are so beautiful to even put in words. The lyrics focus on the harsh words of the people who wouldn't want two lovely humans to be together, "The darkness used to be more comfortable to me / Inside the shadow that grew longer (eyes) / And they said that we can’t be together / Because, Because we come from different sides." Another impressive Korean lyric mentions the word 'for a moment' which seems like a subtle nod to their BTS' song 'Telepathy' whose Korean title is “잠시” which means “for a moment” from their chart-topping album BE, released in November last year. "Cause you're my star and my universe / Cause at the end, these trials will be only for a moment / Please just shine brightly forever like you are now / We'll follow you and embroider this long night (with stars)."  MY UNIVERSE LYRICS TRANSLATION ???? Produced by Bill Rahkko, Max Martin, Oscar Holter, it is written by Bill Rahkko, Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, j-hope, Jonny Buckland, Max Martin, Oscar Holter, RM, SUGA, Will Champion. Speaking to Apple Music, Chris Martin said that it's a love song. "It had been in my mind for a while that someone had said BTS were wondering if we'd do a song for them or something like that. And then we started communicating with BTS and then went to Korea. It's something you could look at so cynically, and we have at times, but anytime there's actual communication or music between us, it just feels so good. So I unabashedly and unashamedly feel really grateful for the song, grateful for the person that inspired the song, and grateful for the people we sing it with," he said. #MyUniverse // Coldplay X BTS // Out Friday // https://t.co/yAcfYWIFgh // ❤️♾⭕️ // @BTS_twt @bts_bighit pic.twitter.com/Hq82Wx1J0A — Coldplay (@coldplay) September 20, 2021 was so much fun... pic.twitter.com/vVFUdluGDO — 방탄소년단 (@BTS_twt) September 24, 2021 My Universe Crew ! Artists would want BTS and Coldplay to be on their records. They are history-making groups known for their meaningful work and have diverse audiences who appreciate their immaculate work. So, when the collaboration news came into the spotlight, it was interesting to see what the two groups could bring to the table. When it comes to Coldplay and BTS, you find will always find a sound that you could resonate with at some point in your life. This collaboration was long overdue. BTS have mentioned, time and again, that they are huge fans of Coldplay and the latter ensured that they record the music with the South Korean group in person in Seoul. The mutual respect between two groups, who make quite different styles of music, has truly encapsulated the essence and the power of music, love and hope through 'My Universe'. While the song is through and through Coldplay sound, BTS brings in their own flavour to it and a new meaning to the word - "love". It's something both the groups stand by and spread across the message that love can be experienced in all forms and beyond. It's a testament to these two bands who go above and beyond for their listeners to create authentic music. Honestly, it's pretty incredible to witness this creation at a time period, when lines are blurred between industries, a moment in the global pop culture when two groups from different forms of life and musical background come together to create music of joy, love, and hope. Recently, BTS appeared on the special episode of YouTube Originals’ weekly music series “RELEASED” on September 9 leading directly into the premiere of BTS ‘Permission to Dance’ MV (Shorts Challenge ver.) on September 10 at Midnight ET. The band was joined by Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, for an intimate conversation on what inspired the #PermissiontoDance Challenge on YouTube Shorts and to discuss their shared experience as global musicians. Back in February 2021, BTS performed Coldplay's 'Fix You' during the MTV Unplugged episode. Over the years, the song has been a part of the group in several ways - one might have heard it in one of their videos, in Jimin and Jin's Spotify playlist, Coldplay being on the collaboration bucket list for V and RM. Coldplay has also teased the song’s Dave Meyers-directed official music video, as “coming very soon”. 'My Universe' follows Coldplay’s worldwide hit 'Higher Power' as the second single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming album ninth studio album Music Of The Spheres, which will be out October 15th, 2021.
