Dan Levy, who is the co-creator and actor of the Emmy award-winning show Schitt's Creek called out Comedy Central India on Wednesday for cutting out a kiss shared between two men from his show while airing on their channel.
Levy retweeted a 2019 tweet by Comedy Central India where they shared a promo for season 5. In the scene , the characters of the show are seen playing ‘spin the bottle’ which also includes a kiss by characters David Rose and Ted Mullens.
When Levy noticed that the kiss was censored, he wrote, "You showed the kiss between two women, you showed the kiss between a woman and a man, then removed the kiss between two men? This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message. #loveislove"

After Levy's tweet, several began to criticise Comedy Central USA. Later, the actor put out another tweet clarifying that it is an Indian channel and not Comedy Central USA. "I thought I made this pretty clear but for those who are confused, this is about a channel in India. @ComedyCentral in America is not censoring the show. They have been lovely and respectful. Thank you for your time," he added.

Schitt's Creek is the story of a wealthy family which goes bankrupt and moves to a small town called Schitt's Creek. The town was bought by the father for his son as a joke years ago, which remains their only asset. AT the Emmy Awards this year, they set a record for winning the highest number of Emmys in a single season for a comedy series. The show which is hailed for its representation of the LGBTQ+ community won the GLAAD media award once.
