Twenty years ago, India won all three titles- Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific titles making history. It was won by Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza respectively. It has been 20 years since then and Lara Dutta took to her Instagram handle to share her memory from those days.
Lara shared pictures of the crowded streets of her hometown in Bengaluru where she had a grand welcome after her win. Sharing the collage of the streets from back then, Lara wrote, "Year 2000. My home town of Bengaluru came out in full force to give me the biggest, grandest welcome I have ever experienced!! The Miss Universe officials who had accompanied me on this trip were overwhelmed!! They had never experienced such large numbers of people!! I still meet adults who were kids then, who had been a part of this parade, who say it was an unforgettable experience! Meanwhile, Lara Dutta recently wrapped up the shoot of the film Bellbottom which also stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi. It was a start to finish schedule in the UK and the film is expected to release in mid-2021.
