Sidharth Malhotra is enjoying his stint as the 'man in uniform' in Shershaah Sidharth Malhotra is enjoying his stint as the 'man in uniform' in Shershaah There are some men in the industry who come across as a natural when it comes to enacting the part of 'men in uniform'. Be it Salman Khan [Dabangg], Ajay Devgn [Singham] or Ranveer Singh [Simmba], they came across as quite convincing when they played a cop. As for Akshay Kumar, he has played a cop or an army officer in umpteenth number of films and would soon be getting into the uniform again in Sooryavanshi. Meanwhile, another actor who is enjoying playing the part of an army officer is Sidharth Malhotra. Currently shooting for Shershaah, Sidharth is practically living the life of Captain Vikram Batra, an officer of the Indian Army, who was martyred in the line of duty during the 1999 Kargil war. "The kind of person that Sidharth boasts of, he is just the right choice when it comes to playing the part of an Army officer," comments an observer, "There is certain authenticity factor that he brings on screen due to his towering personality. Moreover, there is this whole likeability factor which makes him special. Right from the days of Student of the Year where he played a college youngster to the grey shades that he demonstrated in Aiyaary to being a closet villain in Ittefaq, he has always come across as pretty charming regardless of his characterization." This was quite apparent in Aiyaary as well where he played an army officer who went rogue. As Major Jai Bakshi, he took some steps of his own which were questionable in the eyes of law. However he came up with justifications of his own. "However, this shouldn't be a point of contention in Shershaah as we are talking about a national hero," says a source attached to the film, "Everyone has heard of what Captain Vikram Batra did for our country when the chips were down during the Kargil war. However, there is still so much more that audiences need to know. In Sidharth Malhotra, we have the perfect actor to bring it all perfectly right on screen and establish an audience connect. There are very few actors who look comfortable in their skin while donning a uniform. Sidharth is one of them." We agree!
