The veteran actor, last year after the release of Mulk, announced that he was heading to NYC for treatment. It was only recently revealed that the actor was diagnosed with cancer. While the actor is recovering, he has spent a lot of time in NYC these past few months. Rishi Kapoor, on Friday, shared a video from a hair salon there when he encountered a Russian fan who recognized him instantly. He played the iconic song 'Main Shayar Toh Nahin' from Rishi Kapoor's 1973 film Bobby. The actor took to his Twitter to share the video and wrote, "My anthem played in a salon whilst getting a haircut. Russian recognised me and played it from his note book. Thank you Sergei." Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, who directed Shah Rukh Khan's Raees, recalled a similar incident and replied to Rishi Kapoor, "What a moment ! Once we were at the Venetian Casino in Vegas, and on seeing my mum and aunt in a saree, the musician started playing Mr. Raj Kapoor’s signature tune on his violin ! The two ladies had such a big smile on their face, they talked about it for 20 years. Jai Hind." What a moment !
