The filmmaker shared glimpses from the prep for the film on his Instagram. He posted two videos on his Instagram story. The first video story shows a glass wall with ‘Space to create’ written on it and stops at the poster of Takht placed at the corner of a room in Karan Johar's office. The second video shows a wall, on which monochrome photos of the cast of Takht including Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt can be seen. If looked at carefully, there are photos of the magnificent sets of the film Takht on the wall beside the photo of the cast. Dharma Productions shared the same videos on their Instagram story and wrote, "Sneak peek into #Takht prep made by Karan Johar." Karan Johar is known for making larger than life films. However, Kalank, which had a huge star cast and backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions failed to impress the audience and critics. The filmmaker during an interview said that he will not apologise for the type of films he makes. He said that he made those kinds of films because he was raised in a certain atmosphere and there was also an aspiration that was attached to his way of thinking.
