The film was written by Rajat Arora and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Following the success of the film, a sequel titled Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara was made with Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.
