It has been a landmark day for the Indian Hockey Team as the women's team qualified for the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics on Monday by defeating the three-time champions, Australia. With a 1-0 win over Australia, the Indian women's hockey team has made it to the semi-finals for the first time ever. This Chak De! India moment is being celebrated by Indians across the world.
This feat surely reminded many of the Bollywood film Chak De! India starring Shah Rukh Khan that was about an underdog Indian women’s hockey team becoming world champions. Surely enough, Shah Rukh Khan, too, had a very witty tweet for the occasion. He sent a message from his Twitter account as Kabir Khan, his character from Chak De! India. In the film, he played the coach of the Indian women’s hockey team who leads them to victory.
On Monday afternoon, Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter and retweeted a post by Sjoerd Marijne, who is the Chief Coach of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team. Marijne shared a picture of the team clicked after their win over Australia and wrote, “Sorry family, I coming again later”.
Responding to the tweet, SRK wrote, "Haan haan no problem. Just bring some Gold on your way back….for a billion family members. This time Dhanteras is also on 2nd Nov. From: Ex-coach Kabir Khan."
