The school authorities, parents and the children love Bhumi and yesterday, hosted an intimate celebration to commemorate her birthday! The Morena-based school was established in 1992 to fight the prostitution of girls in the valley. The school looks to open up job opportunities for the children thus empowering them and also providing a better future to them. Bhumi has been supporting the school with funds and gifts for about two years and this was their way to express love and gratitude for Bhumi. “It was a lovely evening. All the children of the school and their parents were invited by the school authorities to celebrate Bhumi’s birthday. They all cut a cake, prayed for Bhumi to have a good life and had a very intimate gathering. It was really heart-warming to see that the locals themselves organised this celebration. Bhumi is family to them and they wanted to mark the day with this special celebration,” says a source from the school. Bhumi discovered Abhyudaya when she visited the valley for her acclaimed film Sonchiriya’s shoot. She was moved deeply and instantly connected with their cause.
