Govinda REVEALS the inspiration behind his character in Coolie No. 1 Govinda REVEALS the inspiration behind his character in Coolie No. 1 Govinda recently appeared on India TV’s Aap Ki Adalat show where he spoke about topics and revealed facts that were under wraps until now. From his fallout with David Dhawan and deciding that he will never work with him to refusing a role in James Cameron’s blockbuster, Avatar; Chi-Chi did not hold himself back from being unapologetic and unabashed about situations around him. He also spoke about his way of choosing characters during the beginning of his career. Govinda spoke about his character in Coolie No. 1 in detail and how the character along with many others was inspired by real-life encounters. As for his character, he came across this man in a function that he attended and said, “I came across this man in a function that I attended and his eyes were big and popped out, I couldn’t get his eyes out of my head. And before I could ask him about his whereabouts, the police cornered him.”  He further elaborated, “While I was shooting with Kader Khan sahab, it had been nine hours and even he wondered why I was thinking so much about a character, so I explained it to him that what we’re doing seems very monotonous. And that is when this guy clicked, so I took their permission and showed them my act, the scene later became a super hit one.” Take a look at the entire segment.
