Here’s why your favorite Bollywood Stars CANNOT cast a vote in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019 Here’s why your favorite Bollywood Stars CANNOT cast a vote in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019 While PM Narendra Modi is urging the celebrities on Twitter to request Indian citizens to cast a vote, there are a few celebrities who cannot vote in the Lok Sabha Elections this year. The elections have begun and they will be held in Mumbai on the 29th April. While the citizens will be casting their votes for their preferred political party, here’s a list of celebrities that cannot cast a vote no matter how much they want it. The reason why these celebs can’t vote is because they’re not Indian citizens. Akshay Kumar Akshay Kumar was born in Punjab and even though he was brought up in Delhi, he holds a Canadian passport. The actor has been quite an asset to the industry but no matter how much he wishes he could, you will not spot him in the queue for voting. On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s cop film Sooryavanshi. His last film Kesari has crossed 100 crores at the box office and his performance was lauded by the audience, as usual. Deepika Padukone Deepika Padukone is literally the epitome of beauty but, unfortunately, this beautiful woman will not be able to vote because she holds a Danish passport. She was born in Denmark, and despite being brought up in Bengaluru, she holds a Danish citizenship. On the professional side, Deepika has commenced shooting for her upcoming film Chhapaak, based on the life of an acid attack survivor, Laxmi. The movie also stars Vikrant Massey and Deepika was spotted shooting with him in Delhi. Imran Khan Imran Khan of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na fame, is actually a citizen of the United States of America. He moved to India with his mother after his parents parted ways. Imran is currently on a hiatus and was last seen in Katti Batti opposite Kangana Ranaut. He is also planning to try his hand at directing and has even penned a script down. Alia Bhatt Alia Bhatt is actually a British citizen, the reason being, her mother Soni Razdan hails from Britain. She holds a British passport and hence will not be able to vote for the Lok Sabha elections. Currently promoting her upcoming film Kalank across the country, Alia has two other films coming up. One of them is opposite Salman Khan titled Inshallah and the other one being Karan Johar’s Takht.
