The buzz for a film can significantly increase if two exciting and talented actors are paired opposite each other for the first time. This year, there will be several such films which will have new jodis promising to rock the show. Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt (Brahmastra) The excitement for this jodi has been compounded by the fact that both are reportedly even seeing each other in real life. This pair was long overdue and the actors have come together earlier, for the promotion of Alia’s second film, Highway. And if their off-screen chemistry is anything to go by, this can be arguably the jodi of the year on screen as well! 3. Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon (Luka Chuppi) He is young, mischievous and talented. She on the other hand has proved that she can nail the small-town, bindaas girl roles. How both these actors come together and impress the audiences and that too in a quirky film like Luka Chuppi should be worth a watch! 4. Sushant Singh Rajput-Bhumi Pednekar (Sonchiriya) Bhumi once again dons a rustic but this time also a badass avatar in this period action drama. Sushant, known for his chocolate boy looks, also unleashes his mean side. It’s not known if they have a romantic angle but if they do, it’ll be interesting. 5. Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Sanya Malhotra (Photograph) Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known to play twisted roles but in Ritesh Batra’s earlier film The Lunchbox (2013), he won hearts by playing a simpleton. In Batra’s upcoming film, he’s once again expected to be essay the good guy. Paired opposite him is the talented Dangal girl Sanya. 6. Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra (Kesari) It is expected that this period film on the brave martyrs might have a small romantic track. And it can be one of the highpoints of the film considering these two powerhouse performers will share screen space and romance. 7. Sonam Kapoor-Dulquer Salmaan (The Zoya Factor) While she is spunky and bubbly, he is dashing and has fans not just down South in his home market but across the nation. We won’t be surprised as Sonam and Dulquer turn out to be one of the most entertaining pairings of the year. 8. Diljit Dosanjh-Kriti Sanon (Arjun Patiala) Diljit is a right mix of sweet and mischievous and it’ll be fun to see someone like him playing a cop in this comic drama. Kriti meanwhile should also be great as a journalist. We are really curious to see how this love story between the cop and journo unfolds. 9. Tiger Shroff-Ananya Panday and Tiger Shroff-Tara Sutaria (Student Of The Year 2) Tiger rocks not just when it comes to dance and action but also while being the lover boy. And we are excited to see his love story with debutants and new-age sensations Ananya and Tara. 10. Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani (Kabir Singh) This is a remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy and one can expect some intense romance between the characters. Shahid has explored this space before but to see him romancing and going mad over Kiara, who has found a new lease of life since last year, is worth waiting for. 11. Sushant Singh Rajput-Jacqueline Fernandez (Drive) Both are cute individually but their first look from Drive was sizzling. Add to it some fast-racing cars and this chemistry can be smoking hot! 12. Hrithik Roshan-Mrunal Thakur (Super 30) Hrithik is supremely talented and it’ll be ideal for him to be paired opposite Mrunal, another top-notch performer as proven by her last year’s hard-hitting flick, Love Sonia. 13. Prabhas-Shraddha Kapoor (Saaho) He is the example of machismo and to see him romancing the petite Shraddha in the midst of Hollywood-style action would be a treat. 14. Sushant Singh Rajput-Shraddha Kapoor (Chhichhore) The lovely Shraddha will also be seen with Sushant in this entertaining flick, spanning a decade or two. How their love story progresses over the year is expected one of the film’s major USPs 15. Rajkummar Rao-Mouni Roy (Made In China) With her act in Gold, she proved she’s here to stay. And here, she’ll play a hot Gujju wife and will share screen space with the acclaimed Rajkummar. Needless to say, this one should be loved, in India as well in China 16. Hrithik Roshan-Vaani Kapoor and Tiger Shroff-Vaani Kapoor (Siddharth Anand’s next) We don’t know exactly yet who is she romancing but whoever it be, it should be eyeball grabbing, if her Befikre act is anything to go by. 17. Ayushmann Khurrana-Nushrat Bharucha (Dream Girl) This talented girl is finally getting her due and her first film this year is expected to be opposite the critically and commercial star Ayushmann 18. Rajkummar Rao-Nushrat Bharucha (Turram Khan) The actress then will also be paired opposite another rising star and must say, she has a great taste of co-actors! 19. Diljit Dosanjh-Kiara Advani (Good News) It’ll be a double dhamaka for both Diljit and Kiara fans as these actors will be seen in two films in prominent roles. 20. Arjun Kapoor-Kriti Sanon (Panipat) It’s an Ashutosh Gowariker historical and we can’t wait to see his style of romance and that too with Arjun and Kriti 21. Ajay Devgn-Rakul Preet (De De Pyaar De) It’s a Luv Ranjan production and question arises whether Ajay would have just a lovey-dovey time with Rakul or will he also has to suffer, a la the boys in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 22. Deepika Padukone-Vikrant Massey (Chhapaak) This should be the most unexpected pairings of the year. But looking at the subject and that it’s a Meghna Gulzar directorial, one can expect fireworks. 23. Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh – Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde (Housefull 4) There’s no confirmed report on who’s paired opposite whom but we are sure it’ll be fun, considering it’s a film belonging to the much-loved Housefull franchise.
