Zoya Akhtar would’ve shelved Gully Boy had Ranveer Singh said a NO! Zoya Akhtar would’ve shelved Gully Boy had Ranveer Singh said a NO! The cast and crew of Gully Boy is currently basking in success as the film roars at the box office. With massive numbers, Gully Boy is being loved by everybody especially for the raw element the movie has. Exploring the life of an ordinary boy who dreams big, this movie is an unconventional feature that has added yet another feather to Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and director Zoya Akhtar’s hats. Catching hold of every minute detail, Ranveer got into the skin of his character Murad making us fall for him harder. In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Reema Kagti, who co-wrote the story of Gully Boy with Zoya made an honest confession! When asked during the rapid fire, about who would’ve played the role of Murad if not Ranveer, Reema Kagti replied with all honesty saying, “I think Zoya Akhtar would’ve had to shelve Gully Boy if Ranveer Singh said no.” We couldn’t agree more with her. There is no better fit than Ranveer for the role of Murad and with every role, he keeps getting better! Based on the lives of underground rappers, Naezy and Divine, Ranveer managed to capture the miniscule details of rapping for his role. The supporting cast, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Verma, have also been highly appreciated. In fact, Siddhant Chaturvedi has officially become the national crush after his role as MC Sher in this Zoya Akhtar directorial.
