The filmmaker took to his social media to thank the lead actors for the film. Karan had received Filmfare Award for Best Director in 2010 for My Name Is Khan. Thanking everyone, Karan Johar wrote, "9 years of My Name Is Khan, I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story... Thank you for creating it Shibani and thank you Shah Rukh for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly. Varun Dhawan, who was one of the assistant directors in the film, shared a throwback photo from those days. In the picture, Varun is seen with Student Of The Year co-star Sidharth Malhotra, Kalank director Abhishek Varman and Karan Johar along with other crew members.
