Hardik Pandya - Koffee With Karan controversy: Check out Mumbai Police’s interesting take Hardik Pandya - Koffee With Karan controversy: Check out Mumbai Police’s interesting take Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul stirred up the hornet’s nest after making some misogynistic statements on the Koffee With Karan. After a huge outrage on social media, both the cricketers were suspended by BCCI for a couple of matches. They received a lot of flak and even apology rendered by them was not accepted by masses. Hardik took to Twitter after he received social media ire and said, “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments. Respect.” Adding on to this, Mumbai Police who is one of the major social influencers on Twitter came out with an interesting take on this whole controversy. They took a jibe at Hardik and Rahul by this tweet where they stressed on the importance of being a good cricketer and a gentleman, overall. They wrote, “A ‘Gentleman’ is a Gentleman, always and everywhere.” The illustration has this text written against the backdrop of a cricket field. They have written: How To Be A Great Player? On Field: Maximum Score and Off Field: Maximum Respect For Women. They have given a message with this tweet, loud and clear. A ‘Gentleman’ is a Gentleman, always and everywhere. pic.twitter.com/oANwZH2WwY — Mumbai Police (@MumbaiPolice) January 14, 2019 While both the players have been suspended for a couple of matches, Hardik lost out on lucrative endorsement deals too. A BCCI official said in a press release, “What Hardik has spoken at the show speaks poorly of the BCCI and Indian cricket. An apology is not enough and strong action should be taken so that right example can be set for the younger generation.” Also Read: Koffee With Karan 6: A brand revokes association with Hardik Pandya after his comments on the chat show sparked outrage http://bit.ly/2VRqMNc
