It didn't really feel like a role, it felt like an exploration, sort of like an immersion into this legacy of gorgeous work that so many of us feel affection for and a connection to. So I just got on with the curiosity and the play of it which was so special," Renee said. Directed by Rupert Goold, Judy is loosely based on Peter Quilter’s play End of the Rainbow. The story revolves around Judy Garland’s sold-out run at a London nightclub months before she dies in June 1969 due to accidental drug overdose.
