The two are pairing up on screen for the first time and their fans have expressed a lot of excitement for the film. Shahid and Kiara will be seen playing the roles of college students and Shahid says he was not sure if he could pull off the role. He also revealed that his wife and manager had a huge input in assuring him he could do it. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shahid revealed, “I was genuinely very stressed about that. Because I’m married, I have two kids and I’m 38 years old, and I’m playing the role of an MBBS student. So I wondered, am I doing something cringe worthy? Like, at this stage, why am I doing it. I genuinely had this conversation with my wife, my manager and my team asking do you think I should do it. I was actually very nervous whether or not it will work. But the good thing was that he (Kabir Singh) has already passed out and is almost going to be a surgeon. Plus the course is of like 5 years, so my character is around 26 years old. So, Kiara’s role is about 20-21 years of age and I’m around 26 so there’s that 5-6 years difference. Also, the fact that I’m not playing a 19-20 year-old-guy helped; he’s almost a surgeon so that made me think that I can pull it off.” Take a look at the complete segment below.
