Known as the poster boy of content cinema, Ayushmann’s next three films will see his tackle three different societal topics and yet present them as entertaining cinema that appeals to pan Indian audience. The versatile actor has earned his stripes for choosing to back differential cinema that become huge talking points. Ayushmann says, “If you look at my content choices, you will realize that I’m backing projects that do have something to say, something to make us think, something for us to discuss but at the same time, all of them are films that will entertain audiences in their own way.” About his next three films, Ayushmann informs, “Article 15 is a gritty investigative drama based on incidents inspired by real life. For those who want to see a good investigative film, this film will surely captivate them and keep them on the edge of their seats throughout. Bala tackles premature balding and it is a universal subject matter. Balding affects the majority of men in India and the world and we are trying to tell this story in the most innovative and entertaining matter.” About Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, he says, “This film is addressing the issue of homosexuality in India but we are again telling the story in the most compelling yet light-hearted manner that will make people ponder and yet have a smile on their face. It will make them celebrate inclusivity that needs to be cherished and treasured.” Ayushmann says that love of audience has given him the power to back such projects. “I think audiences have given me a free pass to choose and champion such projects because I have only chosen to stand behind such differential content. I’m only thankful to all of them for standing by me and accepting my film choices. They have allowed a diverse voice like me create a space of my own and I will hate to disappoint them and not give them what they expect from me every time my film releases in theatres,” he signs off.
