The movie is still high on Josh at the box office and has already entered the 200 crore club. Appreciated by the audience and the critics alike, Mohit Raina’s role in the film was a pivotal one. He was earlier seen playing the role of Hindu God, Shiva in Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev. He is still addressed as Shivji by his fans, the role fit him perfectly and honestly, nobody could have done it better than him. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, we asked Mohit about his transition from Indian television to movies. With his Bollywood debut doing wonders at the box office, he candidly spoke about how unexpected the success was to all of them. Speaking further on his transition, he said, “It was pretty smooth. Initially, there were a lot of subjects which weren’t really exciting me or they were not really the kind of roles that I wanted to see myself do. But, yeah the transition was smooth.” Mohit will soon be seen making a debut in the digital world as well with a series titled Bhaukaal. The show is based on the life of a brave heart IPS officer, Navniet Sekera. The series will be directed by Jatin Wagle and will be produced by Baweja movies and Applause entertainment. On being asked to elaborate on the role, Raina said, “It’s more about the journey of an IPS officer, who eradicated the crime which was at its peak during the early 90s. So it’s a very interesting, raw, and edgy series.” He elaborated about getting in to the skin of the character, “For this, I was very lucky to have spent a few days in Uttar Pradesh before I started shooting in advance. It was the first time that I was visiting that side of the country and got to spend some time to understand the language, structure, and the livelihood of the people. I even got to spend some time with the person on whose life the series is based on. Anybody who follows his story would know that it is really incredible.” He is also working on a love story that is also a web series and he has two other projects that he has to choose which one to do begin with.
