REVEALED: Here’s how the makers of The Accidental Prime Minister planned to promote the film at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) REVEALED: Here’s how the makers of The Accidental Prime Minister planned to promote the film at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) The Accidental Prime Minister, which is up for release today, may have been mired in controversies owing to its subject. But that hasn’t deterred the spirit of the makers who are going all out to promote the film. Readers, by now, would be aware that the film is based on Dr. Manmohan Singh, our former Prime Minister. And the makers planned something special for its release day that is on January 11 and visited Bombay Stock Exchange. If recent reports are to be believed, the team of The Accidental Prime Minister including Anupam Kher who plays the titular role visited the Bombay Stock Exchange today morning. Furthermore, the makers had planned that Anupam Kher will be ringing the bell, that is a ritual at BSE to start off morning business. So, it seems that there is an auspicious bell of sorts at the Bombay Stock Exchange that rings every morning as a sign of starting off the day’s business. This honour was given to Anupam Kher of The Accidental Prime Minister. Speaking on how they came up with the idea, producer of the film Jayantilal Gada stated in reports that they were keen on doing something unique since their film too is quite unconventional. The producer had asserted that Kher will indeed ring the bell on January 11 at around 9am as a mark of kicking off the box office business of the film. He believes that since the film has historical importance, a grand mahurat was a must for them. Interestingly, Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister before he took over the position of Prime Minister of the country. The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Gutte, is based on the book by the same name and features Suzanne Bernert, Aahana Kumra, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Mathur in lead roles.
