The news of his death was confirmed by his son Sarfaraz Khan. Kader Khan was admitted to a hospital in Canada and the last rites were performed there itself. While many celebrities remembered the actor, Govinda also paid tribute to Kader Khan. Govinda and Kader Khan shared screen space in several films. Their camaraderie onscreen was loved and adored. On Tuesday, he shared a photo from Hero No 1 and remembered how Kader Khan was not only his mentor but also a father figure to him. "RIP Kader Khan Saab. He was not just my "ustaad" but a father figure to me, his midas touch and his aura made every actor he worked with a superstar. The entire film industry and my family deeply mourns this loss and we cannot express the sorrow in words. I pray to God that may his soul rest in peace."
