Javed Akhtar takes a dig at TV channels, says Karan Johar should have invited some farmers to his party  On Friday, veretan lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar took a dig at news channels that have been highlighting a video shared by Karan Johar in 2019 from one of his house parties. It is being alleged that the celebrities present at the party were consuming drugs.  In his tweet, Akhtar pointed out how several news channels are more concerned about the party at Karan Johar's house rather than the controversial farm Bills that were passed by the parliament recently which led to farmers protesting.  "If Karan johar had invited some farmers too for his party, life would have been easier for our TV channels. They would not have had to choose between a farmers protest and Karan's party! It seems that Karan's do is the second most favourite PARTY of our channels," Akhtar tweeted. In the statement, he said that he does not consume drugs and also does not encourage the use of such substance. He also clarified that the allegations made based on the video are baseless and malicious.
