With Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Ayushmann Khurrana aims to raise awareness around homosexuality With films such as Andhadhun, Article 15 and Bala to name a few, Ayushmann Khurrana had a thrilling 2019. He is ready to begin his filmy streak of 2020 with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, a same-sex love story, and says that it is the gravity of the subject that matters more to him, than just box office success. In a recent interview, the actor shared how his perspective towards the LGBTQ community evolved with time and how he slowly came to understand the kind of stigma, taboo and judgments the community is often subjected to. He also emphasises that it was important that he backed a film like Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan that encourages us to be more inclusive and would hopefully help raise awareness around homosexuality too. The actor is also of the opinion that irrespective of who they are and whom they love, human beings are worthy of being treated with equality. Ayushmann, in himself, has almost become a brand for stories with strong social messages. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, that came out in 2017 and started him as the lead actor, had him suffering from erectile dysfunction.
