EXCLUSIVE: “Bhuj: The Pride Of India’s teaser won’t be attached with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” - Bhushan Kumar The Independence Day has become a very beneficial period for film releases, more so in recent times. The collections go on a high on August 15, especially if the film has a patriotic touch. As a result, the expectations are immense from Bhuj: The Pride Of India, which releases on August 14, 2020. Though it’ll clash with John Abraham-starrer Attack, Bhuj: The Pride Of India has a higher chance of excelling as it’s a bigger film. It is based on a fascinating true account during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. What’s more, the star cast comprises of Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Rana Daggubati and Punjabi superstar Ammy Virk. Recently, there were reports that the teaser of Bhuj: The Pride Of India will be attached with one of the first biggies of 2020 – Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which hits theatres on January 10. It seemed true to many fans as both films feature Ajay Devgn in the lead role and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series in the capacity of producer. However, when contacted to ask if this is indeed happening, Bhushan simply stated, “That’s not true”. Then reports also emerged that Bhuj: The Pride Of India’s shoot is facing problems and faced delays, with Ajay giving away his dates to another film of his, Maidaan. Bhushan however claims, “There is no delay. We plan to release the film on August 14 and we are progressing as per the schedule.” The team of Bhuj: The Pride Of India however did face a minor jolt when Parineeti Chopra had to walk out of the film. She was to play the part of the femme fatale Heena Rehman, an Indian spy based in Lahore. On this Bhushan Kumar tells, “Parineeti Chopra’s dates were not matching. She’s doing one more film, Saina, also produced by T-Series. Hence, we are looking for a replacement.” Finding another actor and then shooting her scenes will take time and yet, Bhushan Kumar, once again maintained that Bhuj: The Pride Of India will definitely arrive in cinemas on Independence Day. Bhuj: The Pride Of India is based on an incident that occurred during the India-Pakistan 1971 war when Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport organized 300 women to create an airfield to help the Indian Air Force (IAF). While the role of Vijay Karnik is essayed by Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt plays Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari, a ‘Pagi’ who can identify a person’s gender, height and weight just by taking a look at their footprints. Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha slips into the role of Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, a social worker, who convinced the 300 women to help build the runway. Finally, Rana Daggubati and Ammy Virk play the roles of Lt Colonel and fighter pilot respectively. Abhishek Dudhaiya is the director of this flick that is co-produced by Kumar Mangar Pathak, Vajir Singh and Ginny Khanuja. https://ift.tt/2Ez3BQn
